Description
The World's Smallest Catholic Church by Steven Michael Photography Art.
The Saint Martin Catholic Church was built in 1888 in Warrenton, Texas. The church flourished for over 25 years before the congregation began to dwindle. In 1915, the area needed a new school and the Catholic Bishop gave permission to tear down the church and use the lumber to build the school. There was enough lumber leftover to build this small chapel on the site of St. Martin’s Church. The chapel has become known as The World’s Smallest Catholic Church. It is big enough for 20 people, and remains open to visitors with a Mass held once a year on All Souls Day.
